Grit, Determination and Sisterhood

“It went well, we got the revenge we deserved after losing against them earlier in the season.”

This latest win against, then top of the table, Accademia Calcio Milano puts Como 1907 Women back in pole position. The first meeting ended in a loss (2-1) but this time the players came out fighting showing their aggressiveness, determination and technical quality and eventually winning 3-1.

“We played well against a very strong team. We worked together as a unit, all aligned on one goal, to win and go top. I think my goal came at the right moment. They were pushing hard and we were only one goal up, the result could have changed at any moment.”

Erika Magni, Como 1907 Womens’ midfielder, scored the third goal to seal the win in the second half. We caught up with her post match.

After winning the match against Accademia Calcio Milano and reaching the semifinals of the Lombardy cup, the team is stronger, united and ready to face the next fixtures as team captain, Giulia Pozzoli tells us.

“We have to face the next games with the same grit and determination to make sure we stay top of the league. We don’t want to drop any points and no game will be easy, we can’t get complacent.”
